Our May 2006 production was “Alarms and Excursions” by Michael Frayn
of “Noises Off” fame.
An unusual play, not performed very often but when it is, is critically
acclaimed.
The last time performed in the West End, Felicity Kendall took one
of the female leads.
The play charts the trials and tribulations we all experience in the
modern world, with hilarious consequences
– smoke alarms going wrong, complex phones and gadgets causing missed
important calls;
auto cues programmed by disgruntled staff and mis heard conversations
leading to entrapment in hotel rooms,
are just some of the seven short stories that the play contains.
Directed by Gerri Green, set designed by Keith French – the team that
bought you “Silly Cow”!!
