There’s trouble when a church hall is more than double booked. Confusion reigns, when a Brownie meeting, clashes with a badminton match, a talk on steam locomotives and a pantomime rehearsal, until everyone finally unites for a common cause, the production of the pantomime. 

Alliances form and switch as opening night approaches. Bob and Kath’s marital bliss is strained by the presence of lusty Linda the secretary. Bossy Brownie leader, Helen, stages walk outs and pursues Policeman David, although he only has eyes for sensible Sue. Ladies’ man Wayne is out to impress anyone who will listen, while nerdy Leonard rapidly bores everybody into submission. Events finally culminate during Leonard’s talk at the final night party, when timid vicar’s wife Evonne finds her confidence, Helen her come-uppance and everyone else receives their just desserts.
